I have always been a "closet" enthusiast when it came to subjects of this nature.I just saw this space and decided quickly to tell of an experience I had with a little of the subject as a topic. Not all that long ago,I flew out to Vancouver to visit a friend that went for a 2 wk vacation 30 yrs ago.I haven't seen him since. While there,he took me for a tour of the sawmill where he worked as a millwright.Naturally we had to get full of suds, which led to the tattoo I had on my shoulder when I woke the next day.The tattoo parlor was owned/operated by this guy who looked like Grizzly Adams.Blonde hair(long) Blonde Beard, burly guy.I asked him how long he'd been in the area.He said "not too long,I just got here a few mths ago,I had been living in the Yukon.Right away "HEY did you ever pan for gold? He said "sure" and reached into the neck of his shirt, and pulled out a gold nugget on a leather string that was about the size of my thumb.Well..my eyes almost popped out of my head.He seen my excitment, and said "hang on,I'll show you something".With that he left the room and come back with a fairly large jar, that was heavy with many more like the one around his neck.I have told this story many many times, and on the grave of my Mother it is true, just as I described it to be.I just had to share it again he
